Crate specifications

Specifications registrars can review.

Projects can be scoped to documented material, cushioning, hardware, insulation, and structural requirements. Final specifications are matched to the artwork, route, environmental exposure, and client requirements.

01

Material Integrity

Available project specifications can include robust panel and hardware systems selected for repeatable handling.

  • 3/4-inch MDO or premium birch plywood specifications
  • Zinc-plated heavy-duty twist latches
  • Recessed spring-loaded handles
  • Reinforced corners, skids, and handling points as required
02

Archival & Insulation Layers

Interior protection is selected around surface sensitivity, movement, vibration, moisture, and route conditions.

  • Anti-static Ethafoam cushioning options
  • Volara closed-cell foam interfaces and soft barrier layers
  • Neoprene weather-stripping gaskets
  • Vapor-barrier configurations when specified
03

Crate Configurations

Structural approaches can be tailored to the work instead of forcing every object into one box format.

  • Shadowbox-style crates for framed paintings
  • Double-box floating systems for added shock and vibration isolation
  • Sculpture crates with custom bracing, blocking, or travel collars
  • Reusable and project-specific configurations
Compliance & monitoring

Export-aware. Monitoring-ready.

Institutional projects often depend on documentation and destination requirements as much as physical protection. We build those requirements into the RFQ and fabrication scope instead of treating them as an afterthought.

ISPM-15 Export Planning

When regulated solid-wood packaging is required for an international destination, the project scope can require ISPM-15-compliant wood packaging supplied and officially marked by an appropriately accredited provider. Destination requirements are confirmed per project.

International transit

Security & Monitoring Readiness

Crate specifications can include planned locations and mounting considerations for impact and tilt indicators such as ShockWatch and TiltWatch, plus digital GPS or climate-monitoring devices when requested.

Condition monitoring

Compliance language should reflect the exact scope of each project. Official ISPM-15 marks in the United States are controlled through accredited treatment/inspection programs; Nengallc coordinates the requirement rather than representing an unaccredited self-stamp.

The Nengallc standard

Institutional workflow

Less vendor chasing. More project control.

An asset-light model works best when the client experiences one clear standard. Nengallc centralizes the scope, coordination, and communication while qualified specialists execute the required fabrication and logistics work.

01

One RFQ

Start with the artwork, route, timing, and requirements rather than contacting multiple vendors separately.

02

Defined Standards

Material, cushioning, hardware, monitoring, and compliance requirements can be written into the scope.

03

Qualified Fabrication

Fabrication can be coordinated through qualified specialists matched to the project requirements.

04

Schedule Control

Deadlines and handoffs are managed as part of the project rather than left disconnected.

05

Clear Communication

Clients have a central point of contact for questions, changes, and project status.

06

Scalable Network

The model is designed to expand capacity and geography without lowering the standard clients expect.

Service network

Virginia-based.
Built for broader networks.

Nengallc coordinates projects across Richmond, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Washington D.C., and broader freight networks based on project requirements.

Request for quote

Start with the artwork. We’ll build the scope.

Send the dimensions, medium, route, timing, and transit requirements. We’ll review the project and follow up with next steps for quoting and scheduling.

Project RFQ

Provide what you know. Exact specifications can be finalized after review.
